Certain Foundation Personnel may possess firearms; however, strict regulations govern their use.
Prohibited Firearm Use
Foundation Personnel shall not brandish or use firearms in the following manners:
Firing randomly, regardless of whether anyone is or can be harmed.
Aiming at individuals outside the context of self-defense.
Equipping or brandishing a weapon (holstered or not) near any Security Clearance-4+ or Alpha-1 protectee, except under specific conditions:
Personnel may brandish a weapon near Security Clearance-4+ protectees only in hostage situations.
Security Clearance-4+ personnel may brandish weapons around other Security Clearance-4+.
Note: Weapons are defined as firearms and melee weapons.
Permitted Self-Defense Scenarios
Foundation Personnel are authorized to defend themselves under the following circumstances, provided no combative personnel are present:
When unlawfully attacked by an individual using a weapon or fists.
When an individual infected with SCP-008 or SCP-409 approaches within an unsafe distance.
When a Class-D individual points a firearm at the personnel in close proximity (e.g., same room).
When a Class-D individual fires at nearby personnel.
When a Class-D individual attacks using a weapon or fists.
When hostages must defend themselves from hostage-takers.
Use of Force During Riots
In scenarios where rioters intentionally or unintentionally use innocent Class-D personnel as shields, combative personnel may, as a last resort, discharge firearms to neutralize the rioters. However, they are required to attempt alternative measures to minimize harm to innocent Class-D individuals.
Suggested Alternative Measures:
Using non-lethal weapons, such as batons, to subdue rioters.
Changing position to fire at the rioters directly without endangering innocent Class-D personnel.
Combative personnel who fail to employ alternative measures, except when their life is in immediate danger, and fire through innocent Class-D individuals, may face disciplinary action as determined by their respective department command.
